THE PANIC CHANNEL Parts Ways With Bassist, Announces Replacement
January 16, 2007THE PANIC CHANNEL — the new band featuring members the most recent lineup of JANE'S ADDICTION and former SKYCYCLE vocalist Steve Isaacs — has issued the following update:
"Today [Jan. 16] is a big day for THE PANIC CHANNEL — not only is it the first day of our North American tour opening for ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA, but it also marks our first show with our new bass player, Siggy Sjursen!
"Our original bass player Chris Chaney [ex-JANE'S ADDICTION], due to family obligations, can't tour, so we all decided to amicably go our separate ways. We wish him and his family all the best in the future.
"The silver lining is that our quest for a tour bassist led us to Siggy, formerly of POWERMAN 5000. Siggy is an unreal bassist, a wild guy, and also looks to add tons to the TPC live show. This guy is like a firecracker! The rehearsals went really well, and we all are very happy to begin the tour with a fresh start.
"Welcome, Siggy — we love ya!"
THE PANIC CHANNEL's debut album, "(ONe)", sold more than 8,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release last August to land at position No. 108 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was produced by Josh Abraham, whose resume includes such multi-platinum artists as KORN, COURTNEY LOVE, LIMP BIZKIT and VELVET REVOLVER, among others. Mixing duties were handled by Ryan Williams, who has previously worked with veteran producer Brendan O'Brien.
